Machismo!

Starting next week I am going to move the Wednesday strip to Thursday night/Friday morning. My midweek schedule has been heinous lately, and I think this scheduling shift could make an easier deadline for me to meet along with a better strip. Also, please give me any feedback that you may have! I'm still trying to find what identity and style work for this strip, and any help would be very appreciated!

For the first time in color...

Sunday's strip!  This has been a great winter for enjoying the outdoors!  Here in Wisconsin, we have had fairly consistent snow cover, and the temperatures have at least been bearable.  As a result, Micah and I were able to get out to Kettle Moraine Northern Unit State Park this weekend.  I have some raw footage that I hope to add to this upcoming Saturday.  I'm hoping that this will culminate in the first video installment for "The Nate Outdoors"!  Of course, warm weather is currently around the corner, and more adventure should be coming along with it.  I've already begun bouncing ideas off of the people featured in this strip (Luke, Micah, and Tim) for possible trips.  Hope to post again on Wednesday!

We have lift-off

For your consideration, the first comic strip. I would like to thank Katie for scanning this and helping with some formatting. You'll notice that Katie is also the name of the character in the strip. This, of course, is not much of a coincidence. As unoriginal as I am, most of the people featured in the strips will be based off of friends and acquaintances of mine. So as to make sure that there are no hard feelings if they are the butt of any particular strip, I thought it would only be fitting to give myself stink lines and place some flies buzzing around me in the inaugural edition. I apologize for this being a late arrival. For now we'll just assume that the bugs are more or less worked out.

Virgin Soil

This is an exciting experience for me. The idea is this: post comic strips, pictures, blogs, and (I hope eventually) videos about misadventures that take place in the outdoors. The star of this show, of course, is the backdrop: thick forests filled with critters, accompanied by brilliant nightly light shows which have traveled billions of light years for your enjoyment. I hope to begin by creating a comic strip for Wednesdays and Sundays, starting either this week or the next. I appreciate the patronization of anybody willing to be in my audience, and comments about the page or any personal experiences that you've had are encouraged. This is, of course, brand new to me, and I fear that the postings in the beginning may be sporadic at best. However, over time I can only hope to improve this blog and make it a point of interest for anybody who is sitting at their computer despite the fact that they would rather be elsewhere. Here's to hoping!
